Personal Musings and an Interactive Writing Career

I am interested in interactive writing in the future. I think the skills we have learned about blogging, remixing projects, and website creation will benefit my future career by helping me reach out to more connections and clientele. Although I plan on entering the legal field, I feel the ability to reach out to future clientele through interactive media will be key in building my practice. The future of law is no longer pulling out the phone book and looking up the nearest firm to take care of your legal needs, but those firms and attorneys that are easy to connect to through social media and other media platforms. A client is more likely to connect with you if they have viewed an informative website about you and watched a video to reassure them that their legal needs will be taken care of. I hope to develop my writing skills so I can better reach out to future clientele.

  1. That is a Good point, Trevor. Although your career may not be "Interactive Media Writer," your future career as a lawyer will likely include media writing as you find, and communicate with, clients through your website, and social media. You may even need to maintain your own blog to promote yourself and your firm.

  2. Thanks for sharing your reflections, Trevor, and good luck on your future endeavors. Writing for interactive media (or any writing career for that matter) is applicable to professional careers across the disciplines, including law.

I am confident you'll be a great lawyer someday with excellent marketing skills who use user-centric multimodal platforms. Keep up the good work!

    Good luck,
    Dr. B
