Personal Musings and an Interactive Writing Career

I am interested in interactive writing in the future. I think the skills we have learned about blogging, remixing projects, and website creation will benefit my future career by helping me reach out to more connections and clientele. Although I plan on entering the legal field, I feel the ability to reach out to future clientele through interactive media will be key in building my practice. The future of law is no longer pulling out the phone book and looking up the nearest firm to take care of your legal needs, but those firms and attorneys that are easy to connect to through social media and other media platforms. A client is more likely to connect with you if they have viewed an informative website about you and watched a video to reassure them that their legal needs will be taken care of. I hope to develop my writing skills so I can better reach out to future clientele.

Scholarly article #4

I thought this article was great because It is interesting to learn the stories of others. When we learn from the stories of others we gain a greater understanding. Narrative is a excellent way for a writer to connect to their readers.. Each person has their own perception of the world, and narrative writing  gives students and teachers alike the opportunity to experience how people relate to one another. The writing landscape has trended to that of the narrative form. Most people have the tendency to value a story over factual evidence, and it seems that the tendency is becoming more and more prevalent in writing. I  agree with the author when she says "The insights and respect that can accrue from this work of individual recognition and respect, I am certain, can help us make them better scholars and ourselves better teachers."  Narratives are a tool that can be used to connect with the audience, thus creating a greater experience for writers and readers alike.

Article 5

A technical communicator in our time is very important. This article is all about that noise. The article discusses the importance of rhetoric and how we as technical writers need to defend the rhetoric used. As we have learned, rhetoric is critical to our culture and language. The article also expresses the importance of the audience, purpose, and context. Focusing on these aspects will help as you write with for interactive media. We also learned that sometimes people use new media and multimedia interchangeably. This creates a great challenge for a technical communicator and requires them to be flexible in their writing.
